Like at every wedding, there is that one table that starts off being a normal table until the tables get turned and the table becomes one every guest wants to sit at. Table 21 was meant to be a wedding venue but blossomed into a restaurant due to the sheer creativity brought to the table by Ahmad Mansouri and Dominique Gilgen. Since there was a need for a steakhouse, seafood restaurant and oyster bar in the area, the restaurant evolved into a local dinning extravaganza with options that will satisfy craving eyes and mouths.
Dominique instinctively took over when it came to naming the place giving it a symbolic name in mentioning the address of the venue which reflects the message that a unique eating experience awaits every guest.
The beauty of Table 21 comes from the quirky twist whereby diverse dishes, flavours and cooking styles satisfy eagerly awaiting mouths with an alternating menu that changes every two weeks. This defines the unique culinary experience at its best.
Table 21 deviates from the norm of fancy restaurants by placing quality at the forefront.
“We use cast iron. We don’t have tablecloths. So in itself it’s a bit unique. We have this steak, 37 ounces: the Tomahawk. Our fish, it’s fresh. Are menus are catered around what can we get right now in the market. For example, this week we’re getting fresh Chilean sea bass and black cod. They just came in to our fishery in Montreal. And we have it here, so we’ll be creating special dishes with that.”
